Artist's Statement
My photographs are primarily landscapes or nature studies. While they contain no people, they are not devoid of human qualities. There is personality expressed in the gesture of a twisted tree, ambition in a fence stretching to the horizon, and stoic calmness in a solid line of trees running along the edge of a field. With my camera, I try to record and convey these feelings in a personal dialogue with the place. I love finding a new space and exploring possible images, but even more I enjoy the overwhelming sense of being temporary and tiny in such surroundings. This is why I am drawn to outdoor spaces where one can find qualities of timelessness and permanence.
